Behind Closed Doors: Military influence, commercial pressures and the compromised university. Report exploring in depth the effects of military and other, more commercial, influences on the life of a sample of UK universities. This new study, of 16 UK universities, helps to build a more accurate picture of the commercialised university and how openness and public accountability are compromised.
More Soldiers In The Laboratory: the militarisation of science and technology - an update. Briefing which updates SGR's earlier research into the way that the UK military sector – including government departments and major corporations – has disproportionate influence over science and technology. It also highlights the continuing difficulties in obtaining information on military involvement in R&D, despite the existence of the Freedom of Information Act.
