Scientists for Global Responsibility available to comment on Ten-year Science and Innovation Framework

On Monday, Gordon Brown will announce the details of the ten-year science and innovation framework as part of the Government Spending Review. Scientists for Global Responsibility (SGR) Director, Dr Stuart Parkinson,
will be available to give initials comments on the framework.

SGR has heavily criticised initial Government proposals (released in March) because they contain:

Too much focus on economic growth at the expense of social and environmental concerns;
Too great an emphasis on expanding business-university partnerships further undermining independent science; and
No recognition or discussion of the dominant role of the military in shaping UK science and technology policy.
